One year of empty stadiums. One year of experiencing BVB from a distance. After a painfully long time without fan support, Borussia Dortmund faced a very special task: To celebrate the long-awaited return of its fans to the stadium – as emotionally and authentically as only BVB can.

Campaign

The campaign motto “Finally Matchday Again!” strikes a chord with the moment – and with the soul of the club.
“Matchday” – the local term in Dortmund for an entire day of celebration around a home game – becomes the emotional anchor for an entire city. The campaign doesn’t just celebrate the return to the stadium, but all the unique black-and-yellow moments that make home games so special: the drive down the B1 to the stadium, the experience on the legendary Südtribüne, the moment at the currywurst stand, or being together in a fan pub. It’s the beautiful little details of a matchday visit that suddenly became priceless after lockdown.

The cross-media rollout spans everything from classic out-of-home and print to social media, merchandising, and of course, SIGNAL IDUNA PARK itself. During the week of the first matchday, the campaign becomes visible everywhere BVB fans are – both online and offline.
